Classics is thriving at Westminster, both in the classroom and via its rich and extensive co-curricular contribution; with in-house theatrical productions, reading competitions and trips overseas, there is a great deal for pupils and staff to be involved in. We have a strong commitment to rigorous and stretching language teaching: at all levels the pupils learn to translate into the target language, and all pupils in the Sixth Form study prose composition. We are looking to appoint a well-qualified Teacher of Classics who will embrace all that Classics at Westminster has to offer and inspire in the pupils a lively enthusiasm for the cultural riches of Classical antiquity. The successful candidate will be able to teach the subject at all ages and ability levels, and to teach Latin and Greek language and literature up to A Level, with expert knowledge and insight.

The role is full-time, covering shared parental leave from September to December 2025. There may be scope to extend the appointment with a view to permanent appointment in due course, though this is not guaranteed.
