Westminster School is a busy and vibrant place to work. There is a real sense of community here as, being a boarding school, many members of staff and pupils live on site and the School’s premises are very much treated as a home away from home. Support staff as much as teaching staff are encouraged to embrace the School’s day-to-day activities, whether that be attending an evening concert or a morning service in the Abbey.

Payroll is a key part of the School’s People function, serving both Westminster Under School and Westminster School. This is an exciting time to be joining us as both schools are currently undergoing a period of expansion, moving towards full co-education across every year group by 2030 and introducing a new pre-prep for girls and boys at 4+.

The role
Westminster School is looking for a Payroll Administrator to support all aspects of payroll processes. The postholder will be responsible for processing payroll, maintaining employee records, and ensuring compliance with tax and legislative laws. They will also assist with payroll related employee inquiries. Working as part of a small team, the Payroll Administrator will report to the Head of Payroll, Pensions and Benefits.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working in an office environment, responding to customer queries, with basic payroll knowledge. They will be willing to learn new processes, displaying a high level of attention to detail, professionalism and flexibility. Excellent communication and numerical skills are integral.

The Payroll Administrator will be full-time and permanent, and offers a salary of £30,000 to £32,000 per annum, depending on experience.
