With a passion for learning and a boundless intellectual curiosity, this year’s cohort of 14- and 15-year olds completed the year-long Platform+ course, which saw them attend Saturday sessions at Westminster. Led by the School’s teachers, the programme is designed to supplement their own schoolwork in one of two areas: STEM and the liberal arts, setting a good foundation for their path to conquering their upcoming GCSES.

At the final Saturday session, there were two outstanding presentations from pupils. The first was by Hannah who gave an insightful talk on the history of the iPhone, and the second from Matei, who spoke on the vitality of pursuing knowledge to advance humanity.

To mark the end of the year-long Platform+ programme, all pupils were then awarded a certificate by Head Master Dr Gary Savage, at the special celebration ceremony to mark the occasion, attended by their family members.

Westminster’s Director of Platform, Solly Hardwick, said: “It was lovely to see the students coming together for the final time at their graduation. They should all be proud of their commitment and dedication to the programme”.

Many pupils shared their reviews on the programme before they left. Omaar said: “I really enjoyed how the experience has put me in a new environment and forced me to adapt, just as it would in the real world, for that I am very grateful”.

Chloe, added: “I liked the fact that our voices were heard at platform plus. Usually, schools do not give us students an opportunity to have a say in our lessons, but here we are able to have an input in our learning and are encouraged to speak up.”
